The Peopleu2019s, of the Republic of Texas, Declaration of Independence from the United States of America In the Declaration of Independence it asserts that, u201cGovernments are instituted among Men, deriving their just Powers from the consent of the governed, u2014 That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.u201d Within the last decade enumerable unconstitutional acts have been perpetrated by every branch of government in these United States of America, acts that have threatened the citizensu2019 safety, their rights and their happiness. The abolishment of a government is not an act that should be taken lightly and only in the most dire of circumstances; however, it is, with overwhelming evidence, clear that this great experiment of freedom has come to an end amongst this unlawful union and we can no longer in good conscience consent to be governed by such an institution. As such, we are not asking for the abolishment of these United States, but merely our own secession. The Constitution is well known as the highest law in the land; but first and foremost it is a contract between the States giving their consent to be governed by the federal government of these United States. This contract of governance lays out all the powers given and not given to this central body and the rights and powers of the people which are governed by it. That being said, if a contract is breached what is the result? It becomes void and the guilty party is punished appropriately1. It is with great antipathy that we now find our contract has been breached numerous times within not only the past year but at best the past decade (The Patriot Act, NDAA, SOPA, PIPA, CISPA, H.R. 347 etc. etc.) and thus we affirm ourselves to be no longer bound by it. Obama himself has overreached his executive powers as granted in Article II of the Constitution. He has refused laws, saying in fact, that he will bypass Congress and the Supreme Court. He has stated he would veto certain bills in congress so that he could better develop his socialized Health Care Law. He has in times of peace, allowed FEMA to make illegal arrests. He has signed Agenda 21 and given limited power to the U.N. relinquishing us of our sovereignty. He has acquired more debt than all the previous presidentsu2019 combined2. He has accepted titles from foreign lands in violation of Article I Section 9 --u201cAnd no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince or foreign State.u201d He has committed high crimes by submitting to the peoples a forged document; forgery being a federal offense. Under Article II Section 4 it states, u201cThe President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.u201d And finally, he has deprived us of our rights to Due process and Habeas Corpus with the NDAA in which for the second time he has violated Article I Section 9-- u201cThe privilege of the Writ of Habeas Corpus shall not be suspended, unless when in Cases of Rebellion or Invasion the public Safety may require it . . .u201d Rebellion having been defined as: u201cREBELLION, crim. law. The taking up arms traitorously against the government and in another, and perhaps a more correct sense, rebellion signifies the forcible opposition and resistance to the laws and process LAWFULLY issued3.u201d As nothing under this administration has been lawful there can in fact be no rebellion by very definition, only the restitution and penalization of this administration which is rightfully owed to the people and the many States. Furthermore, as he has impeded our ability to defend our borders from foreign invasion, he has lost any and all claim that this be an act of public safety. Having listed our insurmountable grievances, we the people have come to the conclusion that this corrupted system has become ineffectual, incompetent and treasonous. We no longer consent to submit ourselves to the governing of such bodies. So it is with just cause that we the people, of The Republic of Texas, declare our secession and independence from these United States of America.
